For June I am sharing 10 FRUGAL (most are FREE) Summer activities for your family. These are great for any family not just homeschoolers.


1) REI Store - Did you know that REI offers FREE workshops and outings? Check your local store to see what they are offering this Summer.

2) Bass Pro Shops - Each year Bass Pro Shops opens their doors to families and offers FREE workshops, crafts, family photo, activities and more. You can also fish in the catch and release pond! This year Family Summer Camp is June 8th - July 14th on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday! Be sure to also pick up your FREE Summer Fun guide at the store.

Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites

3) State and National Parks - During the Summer State and National Parks offer a wide variety of activities including hikes, special talks, fishing and more. Check your local park calendars to see what events are going on. Parks do charge a parking fee which range from $3-$5 depending on the State...however here in GA our library has a State Park pass that can be checked out so you can get in for FREE.
4) Local Libraries - I just went to our library and got the June event calendar. There are so many wonderful events going on. Be sure to check with your local libraries to see what they are offering.
5) Home Depot - Each month Home Depot offers kids workshops. This is a fun activity for boys and girls! Children get a free apron, pin, certificate and of course project that they get to build with their own two hands!


6) Lowes - Twice a month Lowe's offers the kids Build and Grow clinics. Children get a wooden project to build, an apron, goggles and patch.
7) Summer Movies - Check your local movie theaters to see if they are offering any matinee specials. Here in GA we have about 4 movie theaters that offer $1-$2 movies: Regal, Studio Movie Grill, Georgia Theatre Company,

Kids Bowl Free

8) Bowling - Register at the Kids Bowl FREE website and your kids will receive 2 FREE games of bowling everyday ALL Summer long. AMF also offers a similar program.

9) Michaels Craft Store - Passport to Imagination is back this year. Children can explore 7 continents during a 7 week voyage around the globe. Starting June 17th - August 2nd children can join the 2-hour crafting adventures on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 10 am to Noon. The crafting fun is just $2 per session for children ages 5 & up.

10) Lego Store - The Lego has 2 FREE mini builds in June. Head to your local Lego store to enjoy some building fun.
