Giveaway - Digital Copy Of Actual Size Science And Social Studies From Sunflower Education

Educents & Sunflower Education have teamed up to offer you a chance to win a digital copy of Actual Size Science and Social Studies.

Stay tuned for our family's review which will be posted later this week.

Here are some details from the publishers website:
Each of these are teacher resource books that provide blueprints and instructions for creating full-scale, actual-size drawings and diagrams with sidewalk chalk.

There is a huge variety in the 72 science and social studies topics—everything from a Tyrannosaurus Rex to a Viking ship to the Hubble Space Telescope.

Kids can interact with the drawings they help create, using all of their senses as they play, pretend, talk, think, and learn.

KEY FEATURES
  • PEDAGOGY - Teacher-created lessons are pedagogically sound and appeal to all learning styles.
  • AUTHENTICITY - Blueprints are painstakingly researched and exquisitely accurate.
  • SELECTION - Topics are both core knowledge and high-interest.
  • VERSATILITY - Endless possibilities for curriculum integration.
  • RETENTION - Student recall is much higher with hands-on activities.
  • CUTENESS! - Students sit in an actual-size outline of a prairie schooner and talk about what they can fit for their trip West. Kids run the actual length of the Wright Brothers’ flights, arms outstretched. And what could be more fun than looking a life-sized Apatosaurus in the eye, strolling the actual-size deck of the Mayflower, or playing president inside a full-sized Oval Office?
Both of these books will be featured on Educents at a 32% discount starting today!!!!

Looks like a great way for me to incorporate more science into our week. Our current curriculum seems to have little direction and has gotten stale.

Hey Becky,

This is Cindy at Sunflower Education. I wanted to let you know that the topics in Actual Size—SCIENCE really are a mix, from dinosaurs to the International Space Station. You can see the contents here: http://actualsizebooks.com/Science_Contents.html. Enjoy and have a great day! -Cindy

My daughter loves doing art projects along with her science and history classes; it seems to help her retain information. These books contain interesting content that I have not seen in other sources. I could see her drawing or creating some of the things mentioned in the books. Thanks for the review!

My three daughters LOVE to SEE when learning (me too!). This is a great idea! We'd love to incorporate this into our homeschooling day and with the coop of other homeschoolers on days we all get together.
