Finding opportunities to teach through every moment: cooking, playing with Legos, etc.

Every moment of everyday allowing the Holy spirit to lead! Allowing the Creator to teach His creation is the only way!!

Great ideas. One of my top tips is creating a learning environment for children. Have craft supplies, science exploration materials, puzzles and books all within reach of your children.

Letting go of the fact there will be a mess :) I am still working on this as we are in the midst of trying to purge to move it feels like everything is a mess and I almost hate crafting with the kids and having more of a "mess" to clean up.

My top tip for teaching creatively is to build in extra time to our schedule each day to do whatever project/extra studies the kids want to do. If they want to view pictures online of the current topic of study in history (say, the Hagia Sophia) for half an hour it won't derail the rest of the day because I have allowed for the extra time beforehand.

Hit the post button too soon so sorry!! We love hands on to teach creatively!! For instance we were just learning about Michaelangelo and I had my son paint on the underside of the table :) He loved it and got to see what it might have felt like to paint the Sistine Chapel

Teaching creatively around here means getting out materials to make stuff. My boys are very tactile, and they'll remember practically anything better if I let them build things to reinforce the lesson. Like catapults for medieval sieges and shields for Roman battles.

Teaching creatively for us includes following something where it leads, adding in trips, activities, reading, crafts, and whatever else comes our way.

Understanding things may not go as planned, there may be a mess and everything may not be colored neatly but none of that matters. As long as we had fun and learned something it is a success.

I try to teach my 4yo daughter creatively by letting her lead the learning, selecting topics and activities that she is interested...and trying not to control every aspect of whatever we're doing!

I just respond to the situations as they come up, and try to fit my explanation to the need. As we are working through school lessons, I may pull something from the kitchen, my office, etc., to help in their understanding of a concept.
