L Is For Learning To Skateboard

Daddy has been off work since last Thursday so we have been taking advantage of him being home and have been having lots of fun making memories together. My husband used to be big into skateboarding when he was younger so it is no surprise that our kids would also show an interest in learning to do lip tricks. There is a FREE skateboard park fairly close to our home and twice a week a great group of homeschoolers get together to have fun socializing and skating. My most favorite thing is that there is a great group of teens at the meetup who are amazing role models for the little ones.

L is for Learning To Skateboard...

And L is for learning hard lessons. Today our plans had to change because the car broke down and had to be towed home. We were planning to get hair cuts and go roller skating. Well of course there were lots of tears when we informed the kids that we couldn't go because we now had no vehicle (since daddys car is also not running right now). We had to have a talk with the kids about how things in life change and don't always turn out as planned. You know that saying,"when life gives you lemons you make lemonade" or have lunch on the side of a road. We are very lucky to have an amazing friend who  drove 45 minutes to pick us up and take us home. And luckily my fabulous self taught mechanic husband was able to fix the car fairly easily for just over $50, so it is up and running again (just praying now that it hangs on for a few more weeks until we can hopefully get a new car).
