Are you on the search for good quality Christian fiction books for your children? Then I highly suggest checking out the books from B&H Publishing.  B&H Publishing believes, "Every Word Matters™", so they seek to provide intentional, Bible-centered content that positively impacts the hearts and minds of people, inspiring them to build a lifelong relationship with Jesus Christ. I have reviewed books in the past from B&H Publishing like the Hey God.....Jonah book and am always blown away with the terrific writing, illustrations and content.

A moms review:
Bash and the Pirate Pig is a newly released 224 page book. The book was written with boys age 8-14 in mind but my 6 year old son and 7 year old daughter are thoroughly enjoying so I would say it is perfect for any child age 6 and up! The book is 22 chapters, but the chapters are on average only 5-8 pages long and the text is a nice, large font (perfect for young readers). The only pictures are the ones above each new chapter title (so if you are reading to a child that needs illustrations this may not be a good book for them). But the black and white illustrations are absolutely fantastic and very detailed.

Bash and the Pirate Pig is very well written and I love the fabulous descriptive writing style. All of the sights, sounds etc are described so well it makes it very easy for children to really picture what is going on in the book. Bash and the Pirate Pig teach children many important life and Biblical lessons but in a funny, adventurous way.

In the back of the book is a little bonus feature called, "Parent Connection." This little section includes an important verse for children to remember as well as a verse to read with your children. There are also some questions to think about and a fun little activity for children to do.

It has been a great bedtime story book for our family and one that I can definitely see my children reading on their own when they are older.

About the book:
Bash and the Pirate Pig, by Burton Cole, is a story about a cranky city kid named Raymond "Beamer" Boxby who ends up having to spend summer vacation at his younger cousin, Bash's, farm.

Beamer is a city kids who prefers air conditioning and video games. And he is very unhappy about the so-called country fun that includes riding cows, river rafting with a pig, or playing with skunks.

Oh but just wait because Bash's zany adventures with his "Fishin' and Farmin' book" (The Bible) just might lead to the coolest discovery of all.

About the Author
Burton Cole is a Pulitzer Prize nominated journalist with thirty years of experience and more than fifty humor writing awards to his credit. He grew up on a farm in northeast Ohio and attended a small-town church with a slew of cousins and buddies. That same boyhood inspires his colorful stories today.

About the Illustrator
Tom Bancroft has more than twenty years of experience in the animation and illustration industry and worked with Disney on films including Beauty and the BeastThe Lion King, and Aladdin. Other clients have included DC Comics and Big Idea Productions.

There is another great book being released this month as well called The Machine. It is the first book in the new Truth Seekers series. Be sure to check it out.

This sounds like a great book for my boys, especially my oldest who has just started chapter books. Love the lessons it teaches with the story.
