A moms review:
While at the GHEA Conference we had the opportunity to meet owner and creator of Have Fun Teaching. He was kind enough to provide us with a review copy of the DVD Have Fun Teaching - Alphabet Songs. I already was well aware of this company and have shared their amazing FREE resources (worksheets, songs and videos) before on my blog and Facebook page. We love their videos and have watched them online but we didn't own any of the DVDs. I can now tell you that it is definitely without a doubt worth paying for the DVDs. The main reason I will be purchasing more DVDs is that it allows your children to watch the videos continuously without the interruption of clicking to another one. And they can watch them on a "big" screen. It's a great DVD to stick in when you need to keep the kids occupied while you cook dinner, fold laundry, clean etc. Or if your sick. And you don't have to feel guilty about them watching  TV because these DVDs are super educational.

The Alphabet songs DVD not only teaches the letters of the alphabet but also teaches phonics, consonants & vowels, vocabulary words, handwriting skills and both upper and lower case letter recognition.

I primarily chose this DVD for Rowyn my very tactile almost 5 yr old who is very opposed to worksheets. It's been a difficult year of homeschooling him because he learns so differently from his sister and I. I have been struggling with getting him to recognize his alphabet and write it. I figured this would be great for him because I could stick it in DVD player and he could play with his toys while he watched and listened to it. I was so right! As soon as I turned it on he stood in front of the sofa dancing and air tracing the letters along with the DVD.

I have a feeling that this DVD will become Rowyns primary curriculum this year along with some worksheets from the Have Fun Teaching website. I am hoping he will give the worksheets a try as he is watching the DVD (or at least that my goal).

He's sitting in this photo (guess he needed a break) but do you notice what he is air writing with?
Yup, a Lincoln Log, told you he's tactile. You can see Gwyn air tracing too.

I thought my daughter age 6 would be a little bored with the DVD because she knows her alphabet pretty well. But surprisingly she wasn't. She also had fun air tracing the letters, which is a great exercise for her since there are a few letters she writes backwards. And since she is learning to read right now the DVD was wonderful for her because it had the phonics and vocabulary words in it as well.

The music in the Have Fun Teaching products is very upbeat so it really holds the children's attention. I even found my self dancing around to it while I was getting a few chores done.

Have Fun Teaching products are available in different formats ranging from videos, CDs and downloads. There is something for just about every subject and age including counting, character education, science, grammar, language arts, math, phonics, sight words, days of the week, fitness and more.

And make sure you check out all the FREE stuff on the website like these FREE worksheets by clicking on the tabs at the top.

If you are planning to go to the SE Homeschool Expo in July make sure you stop by the Have Fun Teaching Booth. Guess what GA homeschoolers they are a GA based company so even more reason to support this amazing small business.

Gwyns review (6 yrs old):
I like the music and silly songs. I like that I can read some of the words.
