Goodwill = Homeschool Resources

So this week I decided to stop by Goodwill to see what homeschool resources I could find. I spent $20 and got 21 books.
A book about birds, minerals, science, handwriting and a hooked on phonics Level 1.
Scholastic Phonics books.
While I was there I  met another homeschool mom and her daughter who was picking out books to read. She very nice, shared some great information with me and told me about her homeschooling experiences and her children (25, 23 and 13). It was such and inspiration.

One great resource she shared with me was http://www.thebargainwatcher.com. This website is mostly for the state of  GA but you may find listings for TN and AL as well. Under the sales tab type in HOMESCHOOL in the sale title and you'll get a listing of all the participating used curriculum sales. I found some great ones:

I love thrift shopping for curriculum. We have several local Goodwill and Salvation Army stores. Each differs on selection, so some stores have better books than others. I enjoy seeking out the deals though and the kids love having new books to read!
